How We Sharpen           About Us           Where To Find Us           Contact Us           Knife Myths & Facts

My dad was an accomplished sharpener of tools. He taught me from a young age to take care of those things you worked hard to own. Take care of your tools and your tools will take care of you was his often-heard quote.

My dad expanded his edge empire with a little sign by the road at his home in Plant City that simply said: KNIFE SHARPENING. I made that sign for him out of wood and wish I still had it. People in the neighborhood would know where to leave their dull knives on the porch and the next day they would come back and find a fresh new super sharp edge.

The known fee was $1.00 per blade and a jar served as the cash register, all honor system. My dad never counted it. He even sharpened the knives of the Letter Carrier and the parcel carriers that delivered in the area.

Dad would take most of the jar money and buy these inexpensive replacement knives in bulk from a wholesaler. If a knife blade was too far damaged or worn out the customer would find a new knife taped to their old knife and a note from dad explaining why the old knife had reached the end of the road as a faithful cutting servant. That explanation was usually way more detailed than they needed but that was our dad, always the teacher. Nobody ever took advantage of it. A different era for sure and we're going to try and recreate some of it with SamSharp Sharpening Service.

My daughter, Emma-Grace, is eager to help as I bring her up in the trade and teach her business and customer service so you may talk to me or Emma-Grace. We hope you will give us a try. Hit us up on Facebook or call anytime.

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to give you a new edge.
